Being Happy - Emotional or Financial First?

I think everyone comes across this question in one form or another at some point of their life. The question of God exists or not is a global debate - I stand for the side that God exists - but then there’s always a question of whether happiness comes from an emotional factor or financial factor first.

If one starts poor and ends up rich through legitimate means, would he be happy?
If one starts rich and nothing really much changes, would he be happy?
If one starts poor and doesn’t mind being poor, would he be happy?
If one starts poor and is always thinking of being rich, would he be happy?

75% of my 4 questions starts with poor people, probably cause I haven’t reached the point of financial freedom that I wish to yet in my life. I’d say I’m mostly with question 4. I didn’t start out that rich but I’m always trying to think positively that one day, I will reach that level of financial freedom and prosperity.

Do I have to start thinking rich first? As the Bible states… "As a man thinketh, so is he". So if I think rich, will I be? But as much as I think I am rich, nothing will happen if I don’t do anything about it… "Faith without works is dead". Even if I am doing something about it and I’m thinking positively that I’ll be wealthy, will it truly happen in my life when I first experience it?

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, proof of the things not seen. If I have so much faith and believe it so, will it come to pass because my thoughts (as my sub-conscious mind drives me so) push me to reach richness?

Then again, most importantly, when I do become rich… will I be… happy? I’d like to think I will be, but it probably will only prove itself when I reach that point in time. Life’s a big challenge and in the life that we live here, we can choose that state that we live on this earth. We won’t bring anything with us when we die… "Empty I came from my mother’s womb, empty I shall return to the womb of earth" but when we do… Do we bring financial freedom of mind, prosperity and happiness? Or do we bring freedom of mind, happiness but never knowing prosperity?
